Rivalry |
 When the young foxes came around together,
most
of their interactions were quite friendly or at least tolerant. When
food was available and the fox pups were hungry, however, sibling
rivalry took over. Even after she had finished an egg, Princess would not tolerate Lady trying to scavenge the leftovers and would quickly chase her off. In the series below, Prince decided to take over the partly-finished egg from Princess. Although Princess tried to defend her position (and her meal), she was no match for the larger Prince. There was much hissing, squalling, and shrieking. The whole episode was over in less than a minute. I only saw a few such encounters and they usually occurred in the evening with limited available light. It was not possible to take crisp photos when they moved so quickly.
